Wednesday Wishlist: Birthday Edition

Wednesday Wishlist Birthday Edition_feature

My 28th birthday is Sunday. 28!! I’m basically 30. I graduated high school 10 years ago. That is insane! I feels like only yesterday that I was in drama club (of course), that Jordan & I went to prom together, that I registered to vote… crazy. A decade! CRAZY. I can’t even. Let’s move on to the best part of birthdays: gifts! Here’s what’s on my wish list:

Wednesday Wishlist Birthday Edition

1. Patron Prestige Skirt in Pink via ModCloth. Flirty & feminine & pink & tulle. Yes, please.

2. Dream Catcher Eco Flowy Tank by Cinder + Salt. I pretty much want all of Rachel’s clothing in my closet, but this dreamy tank especially.

3. Florabunda Large Agenda by ban.do. What girl doesn’t want a giant planner with stickers and inspiring prints inside?

4. Cherry Pop Nail Polish by 100% Pure. I love this color! It’s a deep red with a dash of purple ~ super sophisticated.

5. Beginner’s Cold Process Soap Kit by Bramble Berry. I want this so Stan and I can finally make soap from scratch together! (We’re weird/awesome that way.)

6. Cupcakes from NoRA Cupcake Co. Okay, maybe I don’t need a whole truck, but a few cupcakes from NoRA would be heaven.

Let’s pretend I’m not almost 30, okay? Okay. xo

Gift Guide: Her

Gift-Guide-Her-poorandpretty

I’m doing a few more posts than usual this week because I’m so excited about the holidays! Here’s my final gift guide: things to get for women in your life.

1. Baked by Melissa cupcakes, delivered. Seriously. They won’t ship on Christmas Day, but you can have them ship on Christmas Eve and hide them somewhere ;) 2. Echo Touch Warmers Zipper Gloves via Echo Design — so she can keep her hands nice and toasty and still use her smartphone. 3. Camp Director Tote via ModCloth. 4. Etanesh Stripe scarf from FashionABLE — give her something that means something. With every FashionABLE purchase, you’re helping women create sustainable businesses in Africa. I love my scarves5. Snow White Druzy Studs made by Jumkha. I’ve never been big into jewelry, but I’m obsessed with Druzy right now. I also love this Druzy necklace6. Santiago Huckleberry candle by Voluspa — a wonderful slightly fruity, slightly sweet scent. Or get it as a reed diffuser7. Flying Bird Botanical Tea in all sorts of wonderful flavors via Leif Shop. 8. Silver Geo Bangle with Rhinestones from Spotted Moth.

Check out all of my gift guides:

Happy shopping!

Gift Guide: Him

Gift-Guide-Him-poorandpretty

Is it just me, or is it really hard to shop for guys? If you’re having trouble too, here are a few things I’ve found across the interwebs for the dude(s) in your life!

1. Beer Making Kits from Brooklyn Brewshop. 2. The Gentlemen’s Deck via Cool Material — so he can play cards and learn how to tie a windsor knot and spit-shine his shoes at the same time! 3. Toy Soldier Bookends via Urban Outfitters. 4. Chef Salts via Fab — to spice up his grilling (or give him the hint that it’s his turn to cook ;). 5. All-natural After Shave Lotion by Sam’s Natural; Stan loves this stuff because it moisturizes and doesn’t burn. 6. 3-Pack Men’s Socks by PACT Apparel — made with organic cotton and without sweatshops. 7. Capsul Wallet by Capsul/Toboggan Design — this is a fantastically durable, minimalistic wallet made from recyclable & non-toxic polypropylene. I have one that I use for business cards! 8. Kitten Brains Skinny Tie by sugarplum USA. If your man isn’t man enough to wear this kitty tie, he isn’t man enough for you.

That’s a Wrap! Creative Ways to Wrap Presents

Have you finished wrapping all of your presents yet? I have to say, I’ve been pretty good this year! All of my shopping is done — thanks to the Bazaar Bizarre Boston — and almost all of my presents are wrapped and nestled underneath my very DIY tree. But just in case you still have some wrapping to do, I’ve rounded up some non-traditional ways to wrap gifts. Check back tomorrow for my tagging round-up!

I love the use of Kraft paper in these! 1. The One Minute Giant Pom Pom Technique via Handmade Charlotte. 2. Washi Tape Gift Wrap Ideas via The Sweetest Occasion. 3. Make Kraft paper pop with colorful dot stickers ~ you can find these at office supply stores! {Source unknown}.

In my family, we are big on making gift wrap out of old newspapers. Last year, Suzi must have collected dozens of papers to make gorgeous bows and bags, which she used for all of her presents! 4. Newspaper roses & gift wrap {source unknown}. 5. Use newspaper and maps to wrap boxes via Real Simple. 6. How to make gift bags from newspaper via How About Orange.

And here are a few generally awesome wrapping papers {and fabrics!}: 7. Repurpose kids’ art to use as gift wrap via Martha Stewart. 8. Printable neon gift wrap by Funkytime. 9. Moustache gift wrap via Fred Flare. 10. Wrap with fabric or handkerchiefs! {Source unknown}. 11. Give Luck reusable fabric gift wrap by chewing the cud, via Felt & Wire Shop.
