It’s crazy how quickly Fall has arrived. Saturday, I was wearing shorts. Today, it’s too cold for me to be wearing these capris! (But I’m doing it anyway ’cause weather be damned!)

How was your weekend? Mine was bu-sy! We’ve got a lot of birthdays in mid-September — my Aunt Kathy’s is the 16th, my Dad’s is the 19th, Stan’s is the 21st. We celebrated Kathy & Dad’s with giant grinders and Avery’s soda on Saturday. If you’ve never had an Avery’s soda, stop by their New Britain headquarters and pick some up! They’ve got all sorts of whacky delicious flavors (Toxic Slime and Strawberry are my favorites; Stan loves Orange Cream), AND they’re still made with real cane sugar. Avery’s is one of my favorite things about my hometown. ♥

And this ban.do clutch is one of my favorite things in general. Stan got it for me last Christmas. :)

I love that it’s reversible (see the hot pink below), has a pretty polka heart lining, and reminds me to have fun. Plus it goes really well with my very fun, very sparkly Timex Originals.

So let’s confetti-kiss summer (and capris) goodbye for now, and delight in the season of apples, pumpkins, and beautiful foliage. Here’s to a fun-filled Fall!

Outfit: Blue & White Pattern Play

I’m mentally tossing confetti in celebration of this three-day weekend. I love how Labor Day just sort of sneaks up on you. I’ve been getting a lot done for my natural beauty eBook, so I’m planning to do even more this weekend. Side note – I can’t even tell you how hard it is to do a photo shoot for an eBook when your entire office is in boxes. I’ll be so glad when our renovations are done and I have my new office!

Our clothes are mostly in boxes, too, but I’m finding that oddly satisfying. I’ve been reading Do Less by Rachel Jonat, and she talks about how having a lot of things tires us out because we spend way too much time deciding between things (what to wear,  what to watch, etc). Psychologists called it Analysis Paralysis. Having less stuff these past few weeks has made my mornings so much easier! I have to sift through way less clothing to find something to wear, and I end up wearing my favorites more often. You might recognize this eyelet tank from my Summer Vacation Outfit.

I also love the pattern play I’ve got going on here. My polka heart jeans are tied for my favorite pair of jeans (tied with these from Madewell), my polka dot Timex Originals gets a lot of wrist-wear, and I’ve already gushed about my diamond-patterned crossbody bag from Bicycles & Buttons.

My navy Keds (gifted to me by my lovely Auntie Kathy) complete the navy and white look pretty perfectly, don’t you think? And what outfit wouldn’t be complete without a little (or a lot) of confetti from The Confetti Bar?

What are you doing to celebrate Labor Day weekend? Soaking up the last of the summer sun? That sounds like a good idea. On second thought… maybe Stan and I will spend a day lounging around by the pool or tubing down the Farmington River. ;)

Outfit: Mint Chocolate Chip + 7 Year Stamiversary

Mint Chocolate Chip Outfit feat via @poorandpretty

Today is my & Stan’s 7-year anniversary!!! Kind of unbelievable. We celebrated last night by binging on buffalo wings, ice cream, and episodes of The Office. Tonight, I’ll be moving lots of stuff out of my office to prep the room for hardwood floors while he plays D&D with his friends. That’s love, baby.

Oh, and I’m posting photos of Stan & I over the years on Instagram today if you want to time travel with us! ♥

We’ve had so much ice cream this summer, and from so many great local creameries! One of our favorites is Sweet Claude’s in Cheshire. While I was in Rhode Island, we had ice cream at The Sweet Spot in Narragansett. This past weekend, our friends Anton and Briana introduced us to Frisbie’s in New Britain. Our orders are almost always the same: I love Black Raspberry and Stan’s all about the Mint Chocolate Chip.

I had to call this outfit Mint Chocolate Chip, especially because it might be one of Stan’s favorites. ;) I switched into it as soon as I got home from work yesterday. If it wasn’t socially unacceptable, I would have worn it to work too — it was so damn hot!

I’m also digging this lipstick in a big way. It’s Au Naturale’s Sangria lipstick, a shimmery fuchsia shade. It makes for a very pretty pop of color, don’t you think?

Here’s a peep at a few more outfit details — the purse came in one of my Stitch Fix boxes, the watch is this sparkly Timex, and I picked up the bustier from Amazon to wear to The Rocky Horror Picture Show last October. It was not fun to wear in October, but perfect for a lazy anniversary date night in August!

Outfit: Summer Vacation (Finally)

Summer Vaca Outfit - Covered in Confetti via @poorandpretty

Tomorrow, I’m heading to Rhode Island for a week with my family and I am jazzed. I haven’t had a lounge-around-lay-on-the-beach-for-a-week vacation in two years (not since Mexico), so I’m overdue. So I’m throwing confetti all around (thanks to The Confetti Bar)!

I’m planning on reading A LOT. I have an unrealistic stack of books I’m planning on bringing. And guys, I’m really digging this outfit.

And I’m making super weird faces at you.

… Yeah, it’s time for me to go on vacation. But here’s a confetti kiss before I go:

Outfit: Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher outfit feature via @poorandpretty

Dreamcatcher-outfit-cinder-and-salt-tank-summer-via@poorandpretty

Yesterday was amazing. I took the day off from work (today too) to work on some personal projects + goals and I was SO PRODUCTIVE. Possibly more productive than I’ve ever been in my life.

First thing in the morning, I packaged and shipped a few Apothecary orders. Then, I hauled about half my closet to The Confetti Bar and took a bunch of outfit photos in Jessica’s brightly-lit, magical, confetti-filled studio. We chatted about being entrepreneurs and collaborating while I flew through my wardrobe.

Recognize that dreamcatcher tank? It’s from Cinder & Salt, and was on my birthday wishlist. Stan bought it for me! ♥ Grab one here.

Baked By Melissa Mini Cupcakes via @poorandpretty

Waiting on the doorstep for me when I got home was a box of Baked By Melissa‘s mini cupcakes (my favorites). Stan had ordered them for me, just because. I am a lucky lady! :) I ate them while tackling some blogging and freelance work for Vintanthromodern.

It was a good day! I’m aiming to be just as productive (if not more) today. Tomorrow will be a day of relaxation. ;) How’s your summer going?
