Lots of outfit posts this month! I just have so many cute dresses and skirts to share with you. :)

This retro rockabilly polka dot dress might look familiar because it was in my Skirt Season post last week, where I shared my essential tools for smooth legs all summer. (I love this photo – it looks like I’m about to take flight!)

It’s also a celebrity! This dress was featured in a video I helped create at Timex for our new line of reversible polka dot Weekender watches. Turns out the dress fit me like a glove, so I got to take it home — perks of being the stylist! Check out the video:

So fun!!! I loved working on this, from concept to storyboard to shopping for and styling all of the outfits, to being on set and helping direct… it was such an amazing learning experience for me. I love being an Art Director!

I can’t get over how perfectly it fits! And it’s very light, so it’ll be great for hot summer days and backyard barbecues at my Dad’s. It goes great with the polka dot sunnies I also swiped from our video ;)

Outfit: Western or Boho?

Outfit - western or boho feat

Outfit - western or boho 2 via @poorandpretty

I’ve been meaning to photograph and blog this outfit for a while now because it’s so fun! It’s another sweater dress from Marshalls. I love the funky designs and color mixes of hot pink, navy, and tan. Standing by a mound of snow nearly as tall as me really makes those colors pop!

My favorite Timex watch and a few colorful handmade bracelets gave my wrists a little more personality.

I wore it over the weekend, thinking it was kind of 60’s bohemian inspired, but my Dad said I looked like a country singer (guess I finally lived up to the name “Sami Jo!”) — what do you think? Western or Boho?

Outfit: My Scandinavian Sweater Dress

Scandinavian Sweater Dress winter outfit feat

Stan came home last Thursday with the surprising news that it had snowed in Israel. I had very little sympathy because of bone-chilling cold we had the entire time he was gone, but I’m so glad he’s back! We have done nothing but cuddle and watch House of Cards all weekend.

It’s March, but I can still get away with sweater dresses for another few weeks, right? This one reminds me of Scandinavian Fair Isle sweaters and my tights mirror the deep blue in the Swedish flag (did you know I’m part Swedish? And Danish, Irish, Italian, and possibly some small part Native American).

Outfit: The Kindergarten Teacher

Kindergarten Teacher Outfit feat

Kindergarten Teacher Outfit 2 via @poorandpretty

Time is flying by way too fast and I do not like it. I can’t believe it’s already February 3rd (Suzi’s birthday) — Happy birthday, Suzi! We always celebrate it on the day of the Super Bowl, much to her chagrin. But this year, we (most of us) barely watched the game and instead played board games and chowed down on the yummy cupcakes I made her, so I think we did okay.

Saturday was crazy busy too. I dropped off a bunch of my scrubs and lip & body balms at The Haven Collective, which you can grab there through Valentine’s Day! Afterwards, I drove up to East Hartford to help out with a Cinder + Salt photo shoot, and gave Rachel some pointers on beginner DSLR photography. And of course, she took a few photos of me in front of the awesome backdrop she made. I love this casual color-pop outfit. It kind of reminds me of a kindergarten teacher.

This was my favorite photo of the day, though. Rachel has a new collection coming out soon, so these prints are a sneak peek. ;)

Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway + Outfit

Hedwig and the Angry Inch with Neil Patrick Harris on Broadway

On Sunday, Mish and I went to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch with Neil Patrick Harris on Broadway!!!! It was so incredible. NPH was the perfect Hedwig. We marveled at how he could dance, jump, and do splits on stage in GIANT HEELS, whereas we can barely walk in them. And his improv in between songs was hilarious (of course). You must, must see it. I need to watch the movie all over again.

I’m so glad Mish and I went together. We don’t hang out nearly as much as we used to, and I miss her so. ♥

Had I planned my outfit a little better, I probably would have worn something a bit more glamorous and had crazy makeup with lots of glitter, but maybe next time. ;)
