Grand Relaunch this Saturday at Hartford HodgePodge

Lavender Sugar Scrub top 8oz_600

I have some pretty exciting news to share! I closed down my Etsy shop earlier this year to refocus and redefine what I wanted to bring to the world of handmade bath & body products. I’m stoked to announce that I will be launching a whole new product line (with a few classic favorites) this Saturday at the Hartford HodgePodge. Here’s a sneak peek:

The Poor & Pretty Apothecary line is 100% natural. Not 95% or 98%, 100%. This means absolutely no synthetic fragrances, dyes, or chemicals. No parabens, sulfates, no chemical preservatives… nothing you wouldn’t find in nature. And where I can, I use only certified organic and fair-trade certified ingredients. And of course, nothing is tested on animals, nor do I use any animal fats or by-products, so my products are still vegan-friendly. Hooray!

Come say hello at the Hartford HodgePodge this Saturday between 11-4! xo

Hartford HodgePodge 2013 - poor and pretty and sugarplum

I’m super stoked to announce that I will be representing both Poor & Pretty and sugarplum USA at Hartford HodgePodge for two dates this season! While Rachel is kicking butt up in Boston through the end of October, I’ll be in hanging out on Pratt Street  in Hartford with cupcake soaps and eco-friendly clothing. Swing by this coming Sunday, September 22nd, and October 20th, from 11-4pm. You won’t be able to miss our booth ’cause it will be a massive color explosion.

Coming attractions: Where will Poor & Pretty be next?

Happy Friday, readers! Got any Halloween party plans this weekend? Don’t forget to check my DIY Halloween posts {1 & 2} for last-minute party decor inspiration!

I’ve been putting together my  holiday vending schedule for the next two months, and I can’t believe that my first craft fair was only a year ago! Here’s where I’ll be in the coming weeks, so if you’re nearby, won’t you say hello?

November 10: Friends of Beacon Falls Library Holiday Shopping Fair | 10-3:30 pm | St. Michael’s Church, 25 Maple Avenue, Beacon Falls, CT
It’s a bit of a mouthful, but this is not your average holiday craft fair! In addition to some local crafters, there will also be a cupcake contest {my favorite kind of contest!}, a used book and media sale, and a teacup auction. Fun for the whole family, and admission is free!

November 11 & 18: Hartford HodgePodge | 12-6 pm | Pratt Street, Hartford, CT
The Hartford HodgePodge began on October 7th and runs every Sunday until November 18th. I’m so happy a friend of mine reached out and told me about this amazing event. It’s an open air market that will be choc full of vendors, artists, musicians, and even food! Plus, it’s sponsored by some great organizations: CT.comDowntown YogaRadio 104.1, and more. Catch me  here November 11th & 18th.

November 23: Freight Street Gallery’s Black Friday Handmade Market | Time TBD | 170 Freight Street, Waterbury, CT
I loved vending at Freight Street Gallery’s Summer Handmade Market, so I’m stoked to be signed on to vend at their 2nd annual Black Friday Handmade Market. Avoid the insanity at big chain stores this year and shop indie on Black Friday!

December 16: Bazaar Bizarre | 12-6 pm | 539 Tremont Street, Boston, MA
My second out-of-state vending experience will be at the 12th annual Bazaar Bizarre Boston {try saying that 10 times fast!}. I will be in good company with almost 100 vendors from all over New England and beyond. There will be ceramics, clothing, edibles, jewelry, stationery, and yes, cupcake soaps! Tickets are just $1 at the door, but sign up for the Bazaar Bizarre Boston mailing list to be notified when early bird tickets go on sale — for $10, you get in an hour earlier!
