Wednesday Wishlist: Birthday Edition

Wednesday Wishlist Birthday Edition_feature

My 28th birthday is Sunday. 28!! I’m basically 30. I graduated high school 10 years ago. That is insane! I feels like only yesterday that I was in drama club (of course), that Jordan & I went to prom together, that I registered to vote… crazy. A decade! CRAZY. I can’t even. Let’s move on to the best part of birthdays: gifts! Here’s what’s on my wish list:

Wednesday Wishlist Birthday Edition

1. Patron Prestige Skirt in Pink via ModCloth. Flirty & feminine & pink & tulle. Yes, please.

2. Dream Catcher Eco Flowy Tank by Cinder + Salt. I pretty much want all of Rachel’s clothing in my closet, but this dreamy tank especially.

3. Florabunda Large Agenda by ban.do. What girl doesn’t want a giant planner with stickers and inspiring prints inside?

4. Cherry Pop Nail Polish by 100% Pure. I love this color! It’s a deep red with a dash of purple ~ super sophisticated.

5. Beginner’s Cold Process Soap Kit by Bramble Berry. I want this so Stan and I can finally make soap from scratch together! (We’re weird/awesome that way.)

6. Cupcakes from NoRA Cupcake Co. Okay, maybe I don’t need a whole truck, but a few cupcakes from NoRA would be heaven.

Let’s pretend I’m not almost 30, okay? Okay. xo

Holiday Crafternoon!

DIY Table - Holiday Crafternoon via @poorandpretty

I had so much fun yesterday hosting my second Crafternoon (remember the one I did with Brit + Co and Timex?). This time, the theme was “DIY presents” – cool things you can make within a few hours that people would actually like to receive as gifts. Eight awesomely crafty ladies crammed into my living room and kitchen and filled the house with glitter and confetti! Here are a few of the things we made:

Confetti Ornament - Holiday Crafternoon via @poorandpretty

Glass ornaments filled with confetti from The Confetti Bar – Alanna’s came out so pretty! Look for the tutorial tomorrow. ;)

Herbal Sachets - Holiday Crafternoon via @poorandpretty

Hand-sewn herbal sachets filled with lavender and chamomile. Jordan is a pro seamstress.

Mason Jar Hot Cocoa - Holiday Crafternoon via @poorandpretty

Jessica L. is mixing up a mason jar hot cocoa mug – look for the recipe next week!

Confetti Soap - Holiday Crafternoon via @poorandpretty

Check out these confetti-filled soaps! This amazing idea came from the brilliant mind of Latanya from Sprinkles & Booze.

DIY gifts with For The Makers - Holiday Crafternoon via @poorandpretty

A big, big thanks to For The Makers for supplying a few supplies to the party! Madu’s craft stash includes the Lemon Drop Necklace and Locals Only Bangle from FTM’s Hello Trouble collection.

Instagram Station - Holiday Crafternoon via @poorandpretty

Another big thank you goes to The Confetti Bar’s Jessica H. for supplying the confetti! She’s using my Instagram Station to show off her herbal sachet and Locals Only Bangle.

Red + Green Velvet Cupcakes via @poorandpretty

I’m super grateful for my fabulous sister Suzi who came over early and helped me frost my red & green velvet cupcakes and make a bunch of appetizers. I’m so lucky to have her. ♥

Thank you so, so much to everyone who came and crafted and conquered. I had a wonderful time and I can’t wait to do this again! (Perhaps in someone else’s – bigger – house ;)

Christmas Wishlist

Christmas Wishlist 2014_feat

I know I said I was excited about winter and snow, but I was sick all weekend and still trying to shake this cold/sinus infection thing. Luckily, I just made homemade vapor rub, which has definitely helped. I am excited about the Christmas/gifting part of winter. I love giving and receiving gifts pretty much equally. While I can’t tell you what I’m giving, I can tell you a few things I hope to receive!

Christmas Wishlist 2014

1. Giant Gem Speaker via ban.do. I’d really like some portable speakers, and this just looks fun!

2. Sprinkles iPhone 6 Case via Pencil Shavings Studio. I don’t have an iPhone 6 yet, but I’ll be treating myself to one after the holidays, so I need a pretty case for it. :)

3. DCR-250 Super Macro Snap-On Lens via Raynox. Because I can’t justifying buying — or having someone else buy me — a real macro lens. This receives really good reviews and should do the trick for closeup photos of my products.

4. Cause for Celebration Heel via ModCloth. I want some sensible winter footwear that isn’t boots. These are so cute! (And would go really well with this outfit.)

5. Holly Golightly Dress in Plum via Fleet Collection. I have been wanting a dress from Fleet Collection for a while now – there are so many adorable choices, all made in Los Angeles.

6. Haven’t Seen You In Ears Coat via ModCloth. You might remember this coat from this post. I want it so much, I’ve blogged about it twice!

Don’t forget – today is the last day to enter to win my Blogversary Giveaway! If you haven’t entered yet, you should! Do it here.
