Favorite Pre-Black Friday Deals

Black Friday Deals feature

Black Friday deals seem to arrive earlier and earlier each year. I’ve been getting specials emails for a week already! Here are a few going on right now from my favorite shops:

Black Friday Deals

Poor & Pretty Apothecary: I’ve got two pretty sweet deals going on in the Etsy shop. The Spa Night Gift Set is 2 4oz scrubs or one scrub and a whipped body butter for $18 — that’s up to $8 off the retail price. If you want to pamper your recipient (or yourself) even more, grab the 8oz duo Spa Month Gift Set for $32, a savings of up to $10. These are the lowest prices of the season, folks!

100 Percent Pure - Sugared & Spiced

100% Pure: I love everything I’ve used from 100% Pure (have you read my review?), so I immediately added their Sugared & Spiced set to my Yule wishlist and told Stan. ;) It’s $116 worth of makeup for $68. They also have a vegan brush set for $95 (reg. $170).

anthropologie- tops under 40

Anthropologie: A little on the pricey side, I pretty much only shop Anthropologie when they’ve got a good sale going. Lucky for us frugalistas, they’ve got one now! Lots of lovely tops under $40. I’m particularly fond of the Cedar Street Tee and the Cassia Scoopneck.

eShakti - 40off

eShakti: One of my favorite new dress shops is offering 40% off site wide until end of day today!

ModCloth - seize the deal

ModCloth: They’re switching it up with Daily Deals — new items listed at 50% off for one day only, every day until Black Friday.

Ruche - Black Friday Deals

Ruche – Oh boy. Ruche has so many great deals happening! There’s the $15 and under sale50-75% off Clearance, Dresses for $9.50+, and over 30% off outerwear. AND You can enter to win your wishlist!

Happy shopping (and saving!), ladies! xo

Wedding Fever

JorDan Wedding - Stan and I

JorDan Wedding - Stan and I

These last few months have been a little crazy for Stan and I because we were in back-to-back weddings! I’ve shared a few peeks leading up to Jordan’s wedding (my bridesmaid dress, the wedding shower) which took place on August 31st and Stan was a groomsman in his friend Paul’s wedding on September 7th. Here are some snapshots from the two events:

JorDan Wedding - Beata Brittany and I

Left to right: Fellow bridesmaids Beata, Brittany, and I.

JorDan Wedding - The dress

Jordan’s beautiful dress!!

JorDan Wedding - ceremony

Jordan & Dan ♥

Isn’t the venue beautiful? It was held at Wood Acre Farms in Terryville, CT.

JorDan Wedding - horse drawn carriage

They took a horse-drawn carriage ride after the ceremony, awww.

JorDan Wedding - Jordan Beata and I

JorDan Wedding - Jordan + bridesmaids

Jordan and her bridesmaids! Left to right: Sister and maid-of-honor Kelsey, Brittany, Jordan, Beata, me, Sadie.

Regi + Paul Wedding - crab!

We spent last weekend in New Hampshire for Paul and Regina’s wedding. On our way to lunch after the rehearsal, we were almost eaten by a giant blue crab!! (Oh and, that’s another eShakti dress. I love it!)

Regi + Paul Wedding - Stan and Regi dance

At the reception on Sunday, Anton (one of Stan’s fellow groomsmen) teamed up with the bride (Regi) to troll Stan. They asked the DJ to play a Nickelback song (he hates Nickelback), and Regi asked him to dance with her. You can’t say no to the bride!

Regi + Paul Wedding - dancing

Nick (another groomsman) and I got on the floor along with the groom and his mother-in-law to ease Stan’s pain. He was a good sport about it though. ♥

Regi + Paul Wedding - Newlyweds + Stan and I

Left to right: Stan, Paul, Regi, and I. She looks just like a princess!

Both events were lots of fun, but we’re a little wedding’d out. We do clean up nice though, eh? ;)

eShakti: The Perfect Fit for Petite to Plus

eShakti dress customization

Before I jump in to why I love eShakti, I have to share one more wedding shower photo. I promise it’s relevant!

Jordan's wedding shower bridal party

Left to right (all of us squinting horribly in the sun): Beata, Brittany, Jordan (the bride!), me, and Kelsey (Jordan’s sister/Maid of Honor). See my adorable green dress? I got so many compliments on it at the shower! It’s the Brooklyn Dress with a halter top from eShakti. Remember them from my bridesmaid dresses roundup? You know how I said they offer customization and custom sizing? Because of this, I thought eShakti deserved a little more time in the spotlight.

eShakti dress customization

Shopping is difficult for pretty much every woman. None of us are the same shape, or exactly proportionate, so it’s hard to fit into almost anything factory-made. And sizes are a total joke. Why am I a 4 at H&M and J.Crew’s 0 is often too big for me? It’s ridiculous! So when I found out that eShakti offers custom sizing and styling for only $7.50, I fell in love. Here’s how it works:

eShakti Brooklyn halter dress

First, you pick a dress. It looks like the Brooklyn dress is currently sold out in green, so I picked the black one.

eShakti standard sizing options

Next, pick a standard size if it closely matches your bust, waist, and hip measurements. Then, enter your height.

eShakti custom sizing

Not down with the standard sizes? Click on the “custom size” tab and enter your measurements. If you give them your email address, they’ll keep your sizing on file for future orders. Super convenient!

eShakti customizing dress length

Want your dress a little shorter or longer? You can customize the dress length, too!

eShakti cutomizing sleeves and neckline

You can also customize the sleeves, straps, or neckline of many dresses. I’m telling you: serious customization, ladies!

eShakti dresses one print three ways

Here’s an example of one dress customized three ways. Now you can see why I recommended eShakti for bridesmaid dresses right? But even for non-bridesmaids, eShakti is a great find for all shapes and sizes. It’s like having an Internet seamstress!

Where have you had success shopping for your size? I’d love to check out your recommendations in the comments!

20 Bridesmaid Dresses They’ll Actually Wear Again

Jordan’s wedding is just over a month away, so my bridesmaid duties are in full swing. We’re doing lots of fun DIY things for her upcoming shower (I’ll share details next week ;). I’ve heard bridesmaid stories, and seen the movie, but I gotta say, I love being in Jordan’s wedding party. She’s just as frugal and crafty as I am and has a great sense of style. To ensure we didn’t spend money on unflattering dresses we’d never wear again, she picked out a color and a general style, and we picked our specific dresses. I’m so in love with mine:

Jordan's Bridesmaid Dress

So in the wedding spirit, I rounded up a few dresses that I think any bridesmaid would be happy to wear more than once! Let’s start with a few from BHLDN, Anthropologie’s wedding line:
