LADIES!!! Have you got your ticket to Monarch Workshop yet? Tomorrow is the last day to grab one! I am SO excited! I always have an amazing time bonding with fellow creative lady bosses, AND I’m leading one of the breakout sessions this time. We’ll be talking natural beauty and making sugar scrubs, wooo!
Not sure what Monarch is all about? It’s a two-day heart-centered workshop that promotes positive thinking, self-reflection, and all around good vibes, with a focus on creativity, wellness, and entrepreneurship.
This is my third Monarch Workshop, and they just keep getting better. There’s always yoga, crafting, delicious food, inspiring speakers, and plenty of rad women.
It’s been quiet on the blog lately because I’m gearing up for the holiday season! Here’s where you’ll find me in the next few weeks:
Shop Small Bus Crawl at Cinder & Salt
Saturday, November 28 | 10am – 8pm | 520 Main St, Middletown, CT 06457
Celebrate Small Business Saturday with the best of Connecticut’s makers! Yelp Hartford is sponsoring this amazing unique shopping experience: the Shop Small Bus Crawl! Hop on a bus at Hartford Prints!, then stop in at Cinder & Salt‘s soft opening on Main Street in Middletown (that’s where I’ll be!), and finish the day at Vintanthromodern, New Haven’s coolest vintage clothing spot. The bus has already sold out, but you can still swing by any of the above businesses. They’re all hosting pop-up shops with local artisans + complimentary cupcakes from NoRA Cupcake Co. + boozy drinks.
Holiday Maker’s Market at New Britain Museum of American Art
Friday, December 4 | 5:30pm – 8pm | 56 Lexington St, New Britain, CT 06052
Stop in for art, live music, local shopping, great food & drinks! It’s NBMAA’s annual Holiday Maker’s Market! I’ll be in good company with Cinder & Salt, Hartford Prints! Kate Stephen Jewelry, Riverdog Prints, Treefort Naturals, and so many other talented Connecticut makers.
Holiday HVN hosted by Happiness Lab at The Grove
Saturday, December 5 | 2pm – 9pm | 756 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06510
More details to come, but right now the local vendor lineup for Holiday HVN is pretty spectacular! I’ll be in good company with B. Meyer Studio, CityLove, Grand Vin, A Happy Life, Hot Blood, Kate Stephen Jewelry, Lunch Box 23, Peterson Sweater Co., Rayne Home Decor, Stonehill Design, Strange Ways, and Vintanthromodern.
Coming up on Saturday, November 7, I will be co-hosting a magical DIY beauty workshop with Jessica of The Confetti Bar! We’ll be mixing up our own sugar scrubs, body oils/perfumes, and bath teas with The Confetti Bar’s floralfetti. Reserve your spot here!
Mix and match pretty petals, herbs, and mica with pure essential oils to make concoctions that look as beautiful as they smell!
We’ll also chat about what’s in our cosmetics and why it’s important to read labels, plus learn how we can make our own natural beauty products with ingredients we already have in our kitchen.
Students will each take home a sugar scrub, body oil or perfume, bath tea, and a sneak peek at my eBook, The Poor & Pretty Guide to Natural Beauty on a Budget. We hope you’ll join us! Buy your ticket here.
Join me this Saturday, July 11 at the McLevy Green for the Bridgeport Arts Fest! I am so excited for this event because I’ll be surrounded by lots of friends and fellow creative entrepreneurs — BBA Bracelets, Cinder + Salt, Flotsam & Whimsey, Glitter & Bold, Hartford Prints!, Kate Stephen Jewelry, Rayne Home Decor, Refabed Chic, RZP Art and so SO many more crazy talented CT artists. See the full artist lineup here. See you there?
Normally, winter is a time of hibernation for my business, and I don’t usually do events. But one of my goals this year is networking, so I’ve got two lovely events coming up!
I’m so pumped to be part of my very first show as a Nutmeg Collective member. It’s a fantastic, active community of Connecticut businesses. They’re hosting a pre-Valentine’s Day Love Local Market at Get Baked Bakery in Windsor this Saturday & Sunday. I’ll be there Sunday only – hopefully the weather won’t be too bad!
You know how much I love collaborating with Rachel DeCavage of Cinder + Salt. We’ve teamed up with the Haven Collective to host the best Galentine event in Connecticut. Maybe even the best in the Northeast! (Yes, we’re that confident.) Stop by Saturday, February 7th to shop, mingle, and make. Rachel will teach you how to screen print and I’ll have all the mixings for salt scrubs and bath salts. Just make sure to reserve a spot if you want to craft. I’ll also have my Poor & Pretty Apothecary products in tow and Rachel’s bringing her eco-friendly clothing, jewelry, and accessories. We can’t wait!
