Last Saturday, my mom and I hosted an immortal-themed murder mystery party for my birthday. Words can’t explain how insanely fun it was, so photos will have to do! See more after the jump. Note: To protect my friend’s identities, I’ve used their character names instead of their real names {except for those you already know}.

So, you’re probably curious as to the plot of the murder mystery. Here’s the set-up: we were attending the Hidden Council’s Annual Costume Ball, where representatives of Immortal clans — faeries, mages, vampires, and werewolves — meet to mingle and discuss important issues in the Immortal world. Recently, however, there have been several Watchers {those that keep the existence of immortals a secret by ensuring all tales became myths} murdered. Because of this, Watchers and an Inquisitor {a ruthless and shrewd detective} were invited to find the murderer and bring justice to the fallen.

As you can see in the group photo, there were some really great costumes. My friends got really into character, right down to the accessories:

I was also pretty amazed by the collective acting talent of my friends. Stan played the part of the self-centered and womanizing Merlin a little too well…

But, everyone agreed that The Inquisitor was the life of the party {he was almost unanimously voted “most in-character”}.

As for the “discussing important issues in the Immortal world,” there was mutiny afoot in the Were Clan. Though she looks perfectly jolly in the photo below, Mayya played the vicious Were Ruler, Bastet. She was overthrown by her underlings, and we quickly voted on a new ruler. Bastet spent the rest of the evening taking photos and plotting revenge.

Bastet wasn’t the only one plotting. Ellora, the Watcher, kept busy extorting money from my character to keep my secrets, and the werewolves seemed to always be up to no good. Especially Seth.

My mother kept busy as Queen Tatiana and host {turns out it was pretty difficult hosting and trying to play a character, though}. I tried getting information out of Professor Jackson, but he didn’t give me anything good.

Then, there was the scavenger hunt, which my mother devised. It took a little long, but it was lots of fun.

We were on the prowl for weapon cards to be used in-game, and used they were!

Even The Inquisitor fell prey at one point… but somehow he came back to life. Interesting.

All in all, the evening was so much fun! Thanks, again, to everyone who came out to make my 24th birthday one that will live on forever. Special thanks to Mayya for the photos {I wish you could have been in more of them, though <3}, to Stan for helping me with casting, planning, and executing, and to my Mom, for all of the endless planning, cooking, and love involved. <3

Saturday was my birthday party at La Boca!  It was so so so much fun!  We got there at around 8 o’ clock, and since I didn’t make reservations, we ended up waiting a little while to eat.  But when we finally did it was awesome.  Sami and I split chicken fajitas and shortly after that followed my Hello Kitty birthday cake and mini cupcakes!!!  Courtesy of Sami and Suzi.  (These girls are freakin’ talented!)

After dinner we had some drinks with a bunch of close friends and a few surprise guests too.  A lot of people showed up!!!  I wasn’t expecting that.  Is it customary to send thank you notes for birthday gifts?  Because I want to thank everyone!  My gifts were adorned with Hello Kitties, cupcakes and vampires and judging  from the gifts I received, my friends know me pretty well.  I loved them all!  So by the end of the night I  made it home in my pumps and party dress and realized what a bunch of great people I have in my life.  Thanks to everyone who came and/ or left me birthday wishes.  It really meant a lot to me.
