Today’s Threads: I polka heart you

polka heart pants and red blazer - poor and pretty

You know how I’m obsessed with polka hearts? When I saw these Romantic at Heart skinny jeans on ModCloth last week, I ordered them immediately.  They’re a bit more than I normally spend on jeans, but they’re made in America so I was willing to pay more to support our domestic economy and fair wage practices. I also can’t get over how much I look like my Dad in this photo. If only he wouldn’t kill me for posting his yearbook picture here!

handmade poppy pouch - poor and pretty

Totally rockin’ my handmade Field Poppy Pouch from For the Makers. This was the first thing I successfully made (partially) on my sewing machine! I hand sewed the zipper area because I’d never worked with a zipper before, but the sides were sewn on my machine. Yay! I finally feel like I can use it without causing a disaster.

I don’t wear this bow ring that I bought in Boston nearly as much as I should… and how have I not featured this blazer in an outfit post before?!
