Nail art has officially made a major comeback…and it’s not your grandmothers style. It’s called 3d nail art or japanese nail art. These sculptures are making their way all over cities on the hands of stylish ladies everywhere. They’re made with colored acrylics or gels and can be made into basically anything. Check out some of my favorites I found…

Yum…I love them. What do you think? I think I’ll experiment with this a little bit.

I love it. Especially the Kawaii Nail Art-2. You girls are amazing! If you ever need someone to model Japanese trends for you, I’d love to do it!
hiii mish i love your blog! and those nails are awesome! lets get cupcakes ones! :) <3
I would never be able to wear some of these, but I can hardly keep regular ol’ nail polish on! Haha. Seriously cool though. I’d love to see you rock these :)
awesome! Thanks so much for the comments! Models are always great…we love to play dress up and I do the hair and makeup…then we do photoshoots!
I love you girls! Keep up the good work and your website is so awesome..Specially in my boring lonely dorm days.

I dont know about the nail art in these poics lol. I have a hard enough time putting lashed on girls this would make it harder, lol
Where can we order these 3D nails ?? I just want the decorations without the tips.
My nails are naturally long and so I have a thing about not ever wearing fake nails but i love nail art. You could totally stick all the 3D bits onto your real nails couldn’t you?
The bittersweet thing about this kind of nail art is you can only wear it for like one or two days. You can’t cook in it or play guitar or even shower really. It’s really a 1 or 2 day thing, and after all that effort :(
but it’s sooo cute.
I don’t know if you can order them without the tips…I searched for some sites…usually they are hand made with the same acrylic used to overlay the nail or a colored gel substance. You’d have to go to a salon to get these babies done! Thanks for the comment!
I tried sticking the 3d pieces onto my real nails (I was against artificial nails too.) they stayed for a few days but fell off soon after. They tend to adhere better to acrylic overlays better and wouldn’t fall off as easily. As for the short life of the nails…yeah they are hard for some people to function in them. Being a hairdresser my hands are in water constantly so I gave in to acrylic and ended up loving them. I keep them very very short though so I don’t have a hard time with tasks. They fare pretty well in the water though so you can definitely shower in them. Guitar might be a little difficult though…try these. This is a really cool stamping kit for nails. It’s easy and lasts a while. Thanks!!!
Motoko, I’ve looked quite a bit too for 3d nail decorations, and I just found a ton on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/lenfima?section_id=6647360
Hope that works for you!
I like Japanese nail art very much! They are creative and gorgeous! I order them from TanaNail (http://www.tananail.com) every month. It is the most convenient way to make my hand looks great!
